Rooftop apiaries are the bee's knees

It was January 2010 when Michael Leung was first stung by an obsession for honeybees. On a trip to Sweden with his then-girlfriend he saw two beehives nurtured by her father.

Honey bees put all their honey in hives. They make them out of beeswax. Think of a hive as a big building full of tiny rooms. The rooms are called honeycomb cells.

Full morgue led to bodies stored on floor

The Health Department admitted four bodies had briefly been placed on the floor at Fu Shan Public Mortuary on Tuesday morning when it was busy.

The case came to light when some Chinese-language newspapers published a mortuary worker's complaint about the incident.

Construction worker dies after six-storey fall from scaffolding

A construction worker was killed when he fell six floors from scaffolding in Macdonnell Road, Mid-Levels, yesterday.

Tsang Wai-hang, 31, was certified dead on arrival at Queen Mary Hospital. He lost his balance and fell while dismantling scaffolding on the outer wall of the building.

Renovation in pipeline

I refer to the letter headlined, 'Filthy state' from your reader (South China Morning Post, March 20).

We have a cleaning contractor responsible for the day-to-day cleaning of the public toilets at our Immigration Headquarters.

At present, the toilets are cleaned four times a day. There is also an on-site worker who does cleaning work whenever the need arises.
