Kennedy draws McMahon in Preston showdown

Hong Kong's Noel Kennedy has been given a chance to meet and beat a long-time friend at this month's World Indoor Championships in Preston, England.

Kennedy said he had to do a double take when he saw the draw for the tournament, which pits him against former Hong Kong Commonwealth Games medallist Mark McMahon in the first round. The tournament begins on January 22.

Former Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) executive director Gerard McMahon has been appointed non-executive director at Keith Statham Associates, a corporate and financial communications consultant.

Mr McMahon left the SFC in December. In April, he was appointed special adviser for O' Reilly Vernier & Gurka.
