Bronze gives Wright boost before Games

Andrew Wright gave himself a timely confidence boost for November's Asian Games with a bronze medal finish in the I-Lan ITU Triathlon Asian Cup in Taipei yesterday.

Hong Kong-born Wright, 26, has been dogged with persistent injuries for much of his triathlon career but has still managed to train and compete well in regional competitions.

A close shave to work Wright stuff

MICHAEL Wright is in the mood for shaving. He will shave his legs and upper torso this morning, and recently he has shaved a few hundredths of a second from his pet sprint events. The territory's 'old man' of the pool hopes both these deeds will combine to give him a medal in either the men's 50 or 100 metres freestyle.

Wright swims to bronze success

MICHAEL Wright claimed Hongkong's first swimming medal at the East Asian Games in Shanghai last night, powering his way to a bronze in the 50 metres freestyle.

Wright, coming home behind two mainlanders, held off challenges from Taiwanese, Japanese and Korean rivals to clinch third place.
