Wronged virgin's court win

A court in Shaanxi province yesterday raised the compensation for a village woman who was wrongly accused by police of 'patronising prostitutes'.

Xinhua said the Intermediate People's Court in Xianyang city ruled that police in Jingyang county had to pay plaintiff Ma Dandan 9,135 yuan (HK$8,600) in compensation.

Xianyang Pianzhuan set up a subsidiary - Xianyang Aodai Electronics Co - in Japan in November, with registered capital of 340 million yen (about HK$20.18 million), a company official said yesterday.
