Shui On Land to convert Shanghai hotel into flagship retail store

The conversion of a luxury boutique hotel in a historical district of Shanghai into a multi-storey flagship retail outlet will be the first project to be tackled by China Xintiandi, a commercial property unit to be spun off by Hong Kong-listed Shui On Land.

Opened in October last year, the Langham Xintiandi says its MICE business is significantly moving in a positive direction. 'Since the opening, we have handled several MICE events, each taking around 100 rooms.

Lo may thwart HNA bid for Shanghai towers

HNA Group's plan to take an 85 per cent stake in two luxury hotel towers in Shanghai could be stymied by Vincent Lo Hong-shui, a minority shareholder, who says he has the 'right of first refusal' on the properties.
