Kingdom to race one more time

Former world champion sprinter Sacred Kingdom has at least one more engagement in his career, with connections deciding to press on to the Group Three Bauhinia Sprint Trophy (1,000m) on April 1.

Trainer Ricky Yiu Poon-fai said yesterday the eight-year-old had pulled up fit and well, despite finishing 11 in the Chairman's Sprint Prize on Sunday.

Ricky Yiu Poon-fai's great season steamed ahead at Happy Valley last night with another winning double but it wasn't all beer and skittles for the trainer, with his top sprinter Romantic City providing a sensation in the feature event.

'He has not reached his peak form yet'

Three races down yesterday, longshots were turning up like needy relatives and it was anything but Plentiful for most players. Glittering claimed the opener at 33-1, Perfect Fit the second at better than 50-1, and Ricky Yiu Poon-fai-trained Plentiful (Marco Chui Kwan-lai) only added to the blitz at 40-1 in the third event. 'He is a three-year-old having just his third start.
