Pet bites off tip of woman's finger

A 43-year-old woman lost the tip of her little finger when she was bitten while playing with her pet dog at home in Ma Tin Pok, Yuen Long, last night. She was admitted to Tuen Mun Hospital in serious condition. Meanwhile, a police officer was bitten on the ankle by a dog while patrolling alone Shek Wu Wai Road. The officer was treated in Pok Oi Hospital.

Mentally ill man found unconscious in bus

The Social Welfare Department will seek reports from two organisations after a moderately mentally retarded man was found unconscious in a 24-seater bus that had been parked in the sun for about six hours with the windows closed.

The man, 46, identified only as Hui, was in critical condition last night in Pok Oi Hospital, Yuen Long.

Officer hurt by speeding motorcyclist

Yuen Long crime squad is looking for a motorcyclist who injured a policeman while speeding through a roadblock early yesterday. The motorcycle sped up as it approached the roadblock in the eastbound lane of Yuen Long Highway near Pok Oi Hospital at about 12.30am, then sped away. An officer was treated at the hospital for minor arm and leg injuries.

A green group will apply to the Town Planning Board to stop the building of a cross-border railway station in West Kowloon.

Woman thrown from bus seat

An 18-year-old woman was thrown off her seat on a KMB double-decker, injuring her knees, when the driver braked heavily in Prince Edward Road West, Mong Kok, at 8am yesterday. She was taken to Kwong Wah Hospital. Police said the driver passed a breath test.
