Short, sharp look at the life of a single girl

FROM the odd choice of moniker, I half expected the McMuiMui Dansemble to be a troupe consisting of pouty Canto-pop divas running about in kilts dancing reels and hornpipes.

In the event, Single Girl turned out to be just that. Yeung Wai-mei puts in an energetic performance in Yuri Ng's short, sharp exploration of female yearning and fantasies.

Joyful reunion

TEN years with major Canadian ballet companies have given tremendous polish to Yuri Ng's dancing. They have also seen him develop and refine his greater gift, and with his latest creation A Game Of . . . it is clear he is shaping up to be a world-class choreographer.
