Clockenflap and Cantonese thrash metal: Charm Charm Chu are the poor piggies in Hong Kong

November 20, 2016

Being the only thrash metal band at Clockenflap 2016, Charm Charm Chu are a local group that aim to introduce the festival crowd to their brand of Cantonese ultra hard rock. They hope people can release aggression over their depressing daily lives through their music and maybe a bit of headbanging too.

The four-piece band had their first show at Hidden Agenda. They have now been invited to tour four cities in mainland China in the summer, including Beijing and Nanchang.

"It is a precious opportunity to reach out the public [at Clockenflap] or it maybe an opportunity to piss people off,” said vocalist Bob Wan.
