China plans to launch Mars probe by 2020

China announced plans to soft land a probe on the far side of the moon by around 2018, and launch its first Mars probe by 2020.

China landed a rover on the moon in 2013 - the first time humans had soft landed objects on the moon since the 1970s.

What a waste of resources what they hope to achieve ? We are screwing up life on our planet and wasting time , people in Beijing are dying like flies in polluted air how about those genius rocket scientist help fix real problems first instead of looking for martians!
