Neighbourhood Series: Tin Shui Wai

Tin Shui Wai, a town of 300,000 located more than an hour away from HK island, has been designed in such a way that its residents rarely get to buy good and daily produce outside of expensive supermarkets. Some residents have set up illegal dawn markets on the streets and on top of bridges but always fret the unexpected arrival of the police. Last week the HK government declared it would open a new, legal, dawn market. Tin Shui Wai's residents and hawkers are worried it will turn into another tourist trap.
