Exclusive video of mainland activists’ life in Hong Kong after being smuggled out of China in 1989
After the Tiananmen Square crackdown in 1989, hundreds of activists escaped to Hong Kong through an operation coded “Operation Yellow Bird”. This exclusive clip from a 19-minute mouldy videotape obtained by the Post gives a rare glimpse of mainland activists' life in Hong Kong after being smuggled out of China. Famous Chinese activists such as Zhao Hongliang and Wang Runsheng can be seen in the clip, which was shot in one of the shelters in Sai Kung and a beach nearby. Read the full story here.
