Hong Kong localist groups differ on future status of the city

As the fears of China's tightening grip on Hong Kong grow, the localist groups have adopted different perspective on how to safeguard the city's autonomy.

Hong Kong Indigenous party¹s Edward Leung upholds the idea of Hong Kong independence from China. However, Dr. Cheng Chung-tai, member of the Civic Passion, sees amending the Basic Law as an alternative to strive for more autonomy for the city.
