Legco 2016 polls see record turnout as new generation emerges
About 2.2 million voters turned out for September 4 Legislative Council elections, taking the turnout rate to 58 per cent, reflecting Hongkongers’ eagerness to make their voices count in the most politically critical and bitterly fought polls since the city’s 1997 handover.
