Animal rights group speaks out against Yuen Long EcoPark

February 23, 2017

Tai Tong EcoPark in Yuen Long bills itself as an educational facility, but animal welfare groups are unhappy with the conditions the animals are kept in. An SCMP reporter visited recently and found goats and emus in small cement-covered enclosures, wild boars in tiny pens, rabbits crammed into one cage and turkeys locked in a windowless shed. Other animals, like a dog in a small cage, showed signs of distress and appeared to be chewing on its enclosures.
