In Haiti, volunteers put their country back on map after devastating 2010 earthquake

The 2010 earthquake in Haiti wiped large parts of Port-au-Prince off the map, and made people realize how unreliable maps were of the whole country. Initially spurred by the disaster, volunteers using Open Street Map technology are now giving Haitians access to what many in developed countries take for granted: reliable maps.
