A futuristic elevator that fits neatly into the corner of a room and moves between floors of a standard home could present a more attractive proposition than the traditional stairlift.

The opening of a new outdoor surf centre in North Wales is being hailed as a 'game changer' for the sport, with a two-metre barelling wave crashing back and forth across an inland lagoon at the touch of a button. But it's also one of a number of new and unusual activities helping to revitalise the region, including Europe's longest and fastest zip wires and a trampoline park set in an old slate mine.
