Jail for Indian cartoonist

An Indian court in Mumbai sent a cartoonist to jail to await trial on sedition charges over sketches that mock government corruption. This has started an outcry from freedom of expression campaigners. Aseem Trivedi, a freelance artist, refused to apply for bail.
