Bold silhouettes at local fashion contest

The Hong Kong Young Fashion Designers’ Contest 2013 awards ceremony took place 15 January, with UK-based Hong Kong designer Elizabeth Lin named Overall Winner. Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the contest has been a platform for local designers to showcase their talents over the years, and is a highlight of Hong Kong Fashion Week. Creativity and originality, marketability, suitability in the use of fabric, workmanship and overall appeal were the main judging criteria. The judging panel included industry experts, media representatives and local and overseas designers. Jing Zhang, Fashion Editor of South China Morning Post, was one of the judges, and shares her observations in the video below.
