Art Basel Hong Kong 2017, the largest contemporary art fair in the city, kicked off at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Over 242 international galleries from 34 countries are presenting installations, paintings, sculptures and digital art. This year's show features 29 new galleries and half of the galleries exhibiting have exhibition spaces in Asia and the Asia Pacific region.

Founded by gallerists in 1970, Art Basel supports the role that galleries play in nurturing of artists, and the development and promotion of visual arts.
