Union protest at Singapore consulate

Dec 6, 2012

The Hong Kong Confederation of Trade Unions protested at the Singapore consulate December 5 after Singapore jailed a Chinese bus driver for his participation in the country's first strike in 26 years. Four other Chinese drivers were charged and 29 had their work permits revoked and will be deported. Last week 171 Chinese drivers protested about poor dormitory conditions and a difference of treatment with their Singaporean and Malaysian colleagues.
