LEBANON, Beirut : A quarter of a century after Lebanon's devastating civil war ended, the country's filmmakers remain fixated with this dark period, seeing their movies as a form of catharsis helping to heal society's deep wounds. But the local film industry's obsession with the civil war contrasts starkly with society's reluctance to confront the past.
