Beautifying apps and traveling frog games have already taken the world’s largest internet population by storm, but now there’s a new viral hit that’s helping people create cartoon family portraits for Chinese New Year.
Beijing-based startup Pupupula launched a campaign called “2018 Year of the Dog family portrait,” which has already seen more than seven million portraits created, according to the South China Morning Post.
Best of all, it’s free.

The company says it hopes the campaign will help create goodwill with customers ahead of the new year. Users are presented with an empty room that they can then populate with furniture, family members and even cats and dogs.
Think awkward Christmas family photos... but in cartoon style… and for Chinese New Year… alright, maybe it’s not like that at all, but it’s still a lot of fun.
