'Extreme' versions of many activities have evolved over the years, from cycling to rock climbing and even ironing. And now, for those brave enough to hop onto the recently reopened cable car from Tung Chung up to Ngong Ping village, Hong Kong is being treated to performances of extreme pogo, or Xpogo, as enthusiasts like to call it.

The Pogo Dudes, who (perhaps obviou-sly) hail from the United States, hold eight Guinness world records for feats such as the most synchronised backflips and the most no-footed jumps. Six of the 40 Pogo Dudes, including co-founders Fred Grzybowski and Nick McClintock, will be performing on their pogo sticks three times a day at the Ngong Ping village square until May 13.

'It is different and fun,' says Grzybowski. 'I like performing in front of audiences because a lot of people have never seen this before.

'The sport of Xpogo has progressed a lot. The tricks people are trying are getting more and more difficult,' Grzybowski says.

During the free shows, The Pogo Dudes will be demonstrating some of their latest feats, including the 'stick flip' and 'no-handed judo' - the mind boggles!
