A VIETNAMESE inmate said he had no difficulty identifying the Correctional Services Department (CSD) officer who allegedly kicked him during a raid on the Whitehead camp, Sha Tin Court heard yesterday. Alleged victim Tong Cong Sau, 30, told the court he had met Wong Sze-fai, 23, many times before the raid on April 7. Wong is accused of assaulting Tong at the administration building in Section 7 of the camp. He has denied a charge of common assault. Wong and another CSD officer, Yue Ka-fai, 22, have pleaded not guilty to a joint charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm in the security office in Section 7. The alleged victim is Nguyen Van Hieu, 31. Wong and Yue were serving officers in Section 7. Tong denied that he did not like the security officers of Section 7 because they were responsible for the screening programme and he was awaiting repatriation. Tong said he helped the officers maintain order in the camp through his job in the camp's disciplinary force. Magistrate Colin Mackintosh adjourned the hearing until January 23.
