On style, she rules

I was rather disconcerted when I went looking for size 36A bras at an established lingerie shop in a Central mall. They didn't have my size, so the saleswoman tried to make me buy a 34B saying it was basically the same. Why can't you get a proper bra fitting in this town?

The Dictator rules: Actually, you can now. Step away from the shopping malls. One of the most exciting additions to the burgeoning lingerie boutique scene is Sheer (4/F, W Place, 52 Wyndham Street, Central, tel: 2147 3887; www.sheer.com .hk). Founder Lisa Cheng and her expert staff offer excellent one-on-one bra fitting sessions (about one hour), providing advice on the right bra for your shape, and even how to put on a bra (you'll be surprised). They also host themed Lingerie 101 Classes, such as 'How to Find the Perfect Fit,' serving sparkling wine and canapes. It's all complimentary with no pressure to buy, but it would take superhuman strength to walk away empty-handed from the beautiful and well-priced selection of international designers, including Mimi Holliday, The Little Bra Company and Wundervoll. Farther west, there's Nicki Perry and Sarah Fenn's Bralicious (1/F, Hollywood Centre, 77 Queen's Road West, Sheung Wan, tel: 6051 8195; www.bralicious.com.hk), where they've been providing by-appointment bra fitting services for about four years. Then there's Emily Ma Richardson's Flaunt (9/F, Union Commercial Building, 12 Lyndhurst Terrace, Central, tel: 2545 8813; www.flaunt.hk). It not only does free in-store fittings, but also makes house calls by appointment. The experts agree that most women are wearing the wrong bra. In defence of 34B-pusher though, and as the above specialists will demonstrate, sizing does vary from bra to bra.

I was just wondering if any beauty shop in Hong Kong sells Anastasia Beverly Hills products for brows and eyes or anything like that.

The Dictator: And then what? That reads more like a lame Tweet than a question. Did you bother to check the official website, www.anastasia.net, for example? Oh, forget it. Look, Anastasia Beverly Hills brow treatments and products were available at I-Spa (Intercontinental, 18 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, tel: 2313 2351) years ago, but not any more. So you'll either have to shop online, or try another line such as the Browhaus shaping brushes, shadows and tool kits (HK$160 to HK$225; 17 Lyndhurst Terrace, tel: 2845 0886; www.browhaus.com.hk). Or try one of the following brow kits, which consist of shadows, waxes and brushes in mirrored compacts. Check out the Benefit Cosmetics Brow Zings and Brows A-Go-Go shaping kits (HK$300 to HK$370; New Town Plaza, Phase 3, Sha Tin, tel: 2604 3603; www.benefitcosmetics.hk) at its dedicated Brow Bars. Fast Beauty sells HD Brow Palettes, too (HK$299; 83A Hollywood Road, Central, tel: 2517 0939; www.fastbeautyspa.com). Then there's Lola's very good Brow 101 kit (HK$225; A Beauty Bar, 15/F, 467 Hennessy Road, Causeway Bay, tel: 2295 6072; www.lolacosmetics.com); and the more affordable Cyber Colors Brow Shaping Kit (HK$168; Sasa, customer hotline: 2505 5023; www.sasa.com.hk). Which only leaves me to wonder if you'll apply it correctly or will end up looking like Joan Crawford.
