Pubs enter spirit of raising funds
TWELVE staff from the Mad Dogs and Joe Bananas bars last night took off their uniforms and put on Santa's costume, touring pubs and bars to collect money for Operation Santa Claus 1994.
The Mad Dogs Pub Crawl kicked off at 7.30 pm from Mad Dogs Central for more than 40 bars in Lan Kwai Fong, Admiralty, Wan Chai and Tsim Sha Tsui.
The staff, armed with plastic bags, spent between 10 and 15 minutes in each bar and asking customers to make donations.
On Wednesday, Mad Dogs Kowloon held a 'Sumo Fight' event and raised $2,000 for the appeal.
Tomorrow, Chater Road in Central will be filled with fun, games and live music when the Operation Santa Claus 1994 Fun Day kicks off at 11 am.
The Hong Kong Society for the Protection of Children, which is the beneficiary for this year's Operation Santa Claus, will be running 19 game stalls.
During the five-hour event, you can donate $10 and receive a gift from Santa worth more than $10.
