Established in 1895, Japan's Ningyocho Imahan restaurant group has earned a reputation for serving some of the world's best beef.

Local carnivores may be thrilled to know the group has selected Hong Kong as the location for its first venture outside the Land of the Rising Sun.

From Friday to June 1, the Ningyocho Restaurant - one of the group's 10 eateries - will be teaming up with Inakaya, the Japanese restaurant way up on the 101st floor of the International Commerce Centre, to serve its famed sukiyaki and teppanyaki dishes.

A team of Ningyocho staff are coming over, including head chefs Motohiro Muraoka (sukiyaki) and Fujio Nakao (teppanyaki), and three waitresses, who will be donning traditional kimonos.

The team will bring with it most of the ingredients, including the beef and sauces.

Highlights of the sukiyaki set will be raw beef aburi sushi and Kuroge wagyu boiled in the restaurant's signature broth, made from a secret recipe.
