Executive Masters in Global Hospitality SHTM - PolyU
The School of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHTM) at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) hopes to provide a global leadership development experience to senior hoteliers through its Executive Masters in Global Hospitality Leadership.
The programme leader, Assistant Professor Basak Guillet, thinks their offering is unique in terms of its target students and delivery mode.
'It is geared towards senior industry executives and hotel managers with at least 10 years of experience, and [it] is delivered flexibly. While based in the heart of the Asia Pacific, we focus on international education to meet the demands of a global industry. Our courses are designed in collaboration with industry professionals, always keeping in mind the specific management needs of Hong Kong and the region.'
Guillet adds that they focus on management skills, plus decision-making and problem solving capabilities, mostly using experiential exercises, intensive lectures, online seminars and group work.
Offered in a block mode, each subject consists of six days of lecture - on Friday evenings and on Saturdays and Sundays, over two weeks.
