TRAINER Alex Wong Yu-on should have a future winner in Pride And Joy who made a most promising debut in the fifth event at Sha Tin yesterday. Pride And Joy is a three-year-old New Zealand private purchase griffin whose first run did attract attention and support. He opened at 8-1 and drifted out in the market to start in double figures but there was justification for the wagering as he finished third in the 14-runner race. Pride And Joy is green and missed the start. Local rider Jackie C. K. Tse got him going midway through the race and Pride And Joy did come home well. He is unlikely to be any worldbeater but he should come on a lot from this run and as a younger horse in Class Four with definite ability he can be followed.
