SHANGHAI Ferry Co has started accepting 40-foot containers to Shanghai.

Shanghai Ferry is the first to handle 40-foot containers in ferry operations between Japan and Shanghai.
Formerly, the carrier could not accept these orders because 40-foot units could not be handled with fork-lift trucks.
The company has now built special 40-foot containers equipped with fork pockets allowing them to be handled with ordinary fork-lift trucks.
In Japan-Shanghai trade, the carrier is providing weekly services with the 200-TEU ferry Su Zhou Hao, which also serves Yokohama and Osaka bi-weekly.
