This year's theme is: 'I should've listened to my friend.' Remember, you don't have to limit your storyline to summer holidays or even the summer. Your work must be between 1,800 and 2,000 words, and set in Hong Kong.

Every Saturday from July and to August, fiction by nine finalists chosen by our judge will be published with illustrations by our artists. All finalists will receive a certificate from Young Post.

The best three entries will share HK$3,000 worth of Dymocks vouchers. The overall winner will be interviewed by Young Post and featured on our cover.

Send your original, captivating entries to [email protected] by the extended deadline on June 29. Put 'Summer Fiction' in the subject field. Include your name, age, school, phone number and a Jpeg headshot of yourself, which will be published with your story if selected.
