Sheer's new bikini line promises perfect fit with splashy staples

Now that summer is in full swing, it's time to pack up for a beach getaway.

Daily cardio routines and low-carb diets to tone up for a coast guard-approved body? We've all been there. But when it comes to shopping for the perfect bikini, a flattering cut and extra strip of frill won't harm your chances even if you have missed a day or two of gym.

'Customers are looking for a greater variety in swimwear. To flatter and support different body shapes and sizes,' says Lisa Cheng, founder of the hip lingerie boutique Sheer on Wyndham Street.

The boutique this week launched three exclusive brands for wannabe water babes: Miami-based Eberjey; Violet Lake, created by former fashion editor Ursula Lake; and the sought-after Sydney label Zimmermann.

While we love the abundance of choice, how does one pick the perfect one that flatters - not flattens - the body shape?

Cheng believes the triangle string bikini is a classic and the most versatile for all body types.
