Name: Ryan Tse Cheuk-shing Collection: Denature skin
Tse's project was inspired by news stories about the buying and selling of human organs on the black market in China - he was interested in the fact that people had placed a monetary value on human parts.
Gradually, he reached this idea of 'deconstruction', and decided to depict random body parts out of proportion. His sources of inspiration included renowned Japanese designers, who also follow the concept of deconstruction.
He said another source of inspiration was old paintings, which is why some of his clothes have a vintage look to them.
After graduating, he will continue to work on handbag design. And, like Lam, he dreams of one day owning his own clothing brand. He says people in Hong Kong are too brand-oriented and as a result many fashion branches aren't personalised enough. If his dream comes true, Tse says he'll combine high-end fashion with mainstream items.
