Grub: Mostly Thai/Vietnamese.

Vibe: Boisterous and family friendly. The front part of this popular restaurant is decorated with black stained wood into which illuminated red stripes wave randomly, giving a flame-like effect. The larger back area is more conventional. Staff are friendly and the service is prompt and efficient. Plastic bowls and cups are provided for the young or clumsy .

Who to take: Your kid brother or sister, or friends. The restaurant is in a bustling shopping mall so you can go to recharge after a stroll along the waterfront, or when babysitting gets tiring.

What's hot: The menu is clear and easy to read with big pictures of all the dishes. Logos differentiate between Thai and Vietnamese dishes, and there are also logos to tell you which are vegetarian and spicy dishes.

Starters include the popular rice paper rolls from Vietnam while Thailand is represented by barbecued squid, pork and satays. There are also deep-fried shrimp and fish cakes.

Another Thai dish is deep-fried tofu with shrimp mousse, which is actually the same kind of minced shrimp used to make shrimp cakes. Here, it is fused onto the cubes of tofu and served with a chive and vinaigrette dipping sauce.
