The new Google Nexus 7 is the first Android tablet that actually comes from the developer of the operating system, Google.
It doesn't seem that different from other Android tablets on the market at first, since functionality-wise, they are all basically the same.
What Google has done is put in a speedy quad-core Tegra 3 processor running at 1.3GHz and the latest version of Android (4.1 Jelly Bean) in the Nexus.
As well as its speed, the Nexus 7 comes with a 7-inch high-definition screen (1280x800 pixels) that is protected by scratch-resistant Corning glass, Wi-fi and Bluetooth connectivity, either 8GB or 16GB of storage, and a 4325mAh battery that lasts for up to 300 hours on standby.
Obviously, you will also get built-in support for all those Google features, like Gmail, YouTube, the Chrome browser, and can download plenty of more applications from Google Play, the company's apps store.
Best of all, the Nexus 7 is available at the same low price range as some entry-level Android tablets on the market, which typically have slower processors and poorer screens.
