I AM sorry your correspondent Ken Bridgewater (South China Morning Post, December 19) encountered so much difficulty in trying to search for the number of RTHK's special telephone service for Legco proceedings.
I am surprised he went about it in such a tortuous way . . . unless he was trying to make a point. He knows so many of us at RTHK, all he had to do was ask us directly.
To make it easier for Ken and others who may be interested, we shall arrange to trail the telephone number (794 1988) soon after the hourly news summary when Legco meetings are in progress.
The number of calls to the service are being monitored closely. Now that the novelty factor has worn off, it is fairly easy to get a connection. Very seldom do the callers stay on the line for more than 10 minutes.
