THE saga of legislator Lau Chin-shek's resignation from the Legislative Council has achieved little and only shows the immaturity of the Hong Kong democracy movement. Two questions which need to be answered and the consequences made known are: 1) Has Mr Lau actually resigned from the Legislative Council? 2) Has Mr Patten, the Governor, accepted or rejected Mr Lau's resignation? Perhaps the Legislative Council itself can shed some light on these two questions for the benefit of democratic-conscious Hong Kong citizens. JOSEPH HIN KEI TSANG New Territories
