I REFER to the letter from A. Jarvis and P. Kotzes, which appeared in these columns on December 23, in response to my earlier letter.
I am grateful to them for informing me about the World Wide Fund for Nature's efforts regarding marine life.
My letter was not meant to berate the Post Office's decision to print stamps depicting the beauty of nature. All I meant to say was that it is a pity the vast majority of us urban dwellers do not have the opportunity to appreciate Hong Kong's natural splendour.
The waters immediately surrounding Hong Kong are disgustingly filthy and the air quality is steadily getting worse.
Most of us who live, work and study in the city, six days a week, look out to a murky and stinking harbour as opposed to a distant, rocky coastline with vibrant corals.
