TRANSPORT company employee and a former staff member plotted a bogus robbery so that three men could steal more than $7.5 million worth of goods, the District Court heard. The Crown alleged yesterday that to give the impression a robbery had occurred, To Chun-wai allowed himself to be tied up and later reported to police that the company's Kowloon Bay office had been raided. Employee To, 25, and alleged accomplice Lau Ching-wing, 20, pleaded not guilty to a joint charge of theft before Judge Jackson. The Crown claims that three men entered the office of Yamato Transport HK Ltd at 11.50 pm on July 26 last year and stole $7,526,350 worth of goods, including transceivers, cassette decks, watches and clothing. It is alleged that Lau and To each received $240,000 as their share of the proceeds and both men bought a car. The hearing continues.
