Fund hits magical $4m mark

THE total for Operation Santa Claus 1994 has finally broken the magical $4 million mark, with $499,025 raised yesterday bringing the total to $4,010,801.

Today is the final day of the appeal but keep the donations pouring in as it will all will add to the grand total - dig deep into your pockets because every cent helps underprivileged children.

On New Year's Eve, Rain Dear will perform from 8 pm in the Beach Resort Hotel's main bar. The hotel has six donation boxes and plans to donate $15,000.

Tonight, singer Jacky Cheung Hok-yau, who raised $1 million, will present the cheque to campaign organiser Martin Clarke on the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront, where Polyram Records will build a five-metre Christmas tree made from 4,500 CDs.
