HONG KONG resident Angel Mou Pui-peng, who was granted a surprise Christmas reprieve on the eve of her execution in Singapore, will be hanged next Friday, her family was told.
Mou's mother, Wong Siu-mui, yesterday received a brief telegram from Singapore authorities telling her the family could claim Mou's body on January 6.
The telegram said the family would be allowed to visit Mou, 25, three days before the scheduled hanging.
But Mrs Wong, 58, and Mou's nine-year-old son, in Singapore two weeks ago to pay final visits to Mou, have returned to Hong Kong and are unlikely to make another trip to the island republic to bid her farewell.
They said they suffered considerably during the last trip. Mou's son wept when he visited her in Changi prison.
Yesterday, Mrs Wong said although the boy did not know Mou was on death row, he knew he was paying her final visits.
