A CHANGE of faces can be expected on English language news and current affairs programmes with former beauty queen Lorraine Hahn of TVB Pearl and former part-time model Libby-Jane Charleston of ATV World heading for pastures new.

Lorraine, newsreader and anchor of The Pearl Report, has handed in her notice after a job offer from the Asian News and Business Channel.

The American-owned financial news service for Southeast Asia, to be launched on Wharf Cable in March and based in Hong Kong, has also snapped up TVB reporter Geoff Cutmore and ATV Inside Story correspondent Aruna Iyengar. Lorraine will be anchor-editor and Geoff and Aruna will be reporters.

Lorraine, born in Singapore, grew up in Malaysia and emigrated to Vancouver in 1979. She was crowned Miss Vancouver Chinatown 1983 while studying business and English literature at the University of British Columbia.

She came to Hong Kong in 1986 and landed a job with Commercial Radio. Eighteen months later TVB's financial unit beckoned.

Meanwhile, Libby-Jane, who last year won a South China Morning Post short story competition, has decided to return to Australia.
