THE romantic thriller, I Love Trouble , stars pretty woman Julia Roberts and Nick Nolte. Roberts plays beautiful Sabrina Peterson, a reporter with quick wit and resourcefulness. She encounters columnist-turned-novelist Peter Brakett (Nolte), who has somehow lost his journalistic drive and has fallen to recycling his old columns. The two start an exciting and romantic adventure. Working for two competing Chicago newspapers, both try to outwit each other, almost getting themselves killed for the front page story. Adapted from a popular play by the Hong Kong Repertory Theatre, I Have A Date With Spring is a film with a refreshing difference. Former singer Butterfly Yiu (Alice Lau Nga-lai) is invited back to Hong Kong for a comeback concert. The return brings back bitter-sweet memories of her friendship with three other girls she used to perform together in a nightclub once upon a time and romantic reminiscences with a saxophone player (David Wu Ta-wei). British comedy Splitting Heirs stars Rick Moranis, Eric Idle and Barbara Hershey. Baby Tommy (Idle) was accidentally left behind at a wild London party at his incredibly wealthy family, only to be raised by a poor Asian family as one of their own. Now grown up, the unlucky soul discovers to his horror that not only is he the real 15th Duke of Bournemouth, but that his American cousin Henry (Moranis) has inherited everything, including the vast fortune that should be his. While Tommy finds himself deeply in love with his dream girl Kitty who wants only to marry Henry, his real mother (Hershey) tries to seduce him, without knowing their relationship.
