COSMO Saunders is likely to be the only local swimmer to represent Hong Kong in all the remaining legs of the Epson World Cup in Europe. The Hong Kong Swimming Association has named nine swimmers to represent the territory in the six legs of the short course championships - but Saunders is the sole swimmer pencilled in for all legs. This is due to the unavailability of the eight others. 'Even Saunders is still uncertain whether she can find the time to take part in all six legs. If any of the others were available, they would have been sent to all the events,' said coach Joe Hung. The territory's leading female swimmer, Robyn Lamsam, will be joined by Heidi Wong, Tam Chi-kin and Sun Fat-yee for the first three legs in Finland, France and Italy. Saunders has still not confirmed her availability for these three legs. The rest of the squad - Alex Wong, Mark Kwok, Fong Lik-sun, Michael Scott and Saunders - will take in England, Sweden and Germany. Lamsam and Tam will also join the others for the Sheffield meet in England. Hong Kong's Asian Games bronze medallists Katie Lau and Vivian Lee were not picked because of lack of fitness and application respectively. The first European leg, in Finland, starts on January 31 and the championships end in Germany on February 19.
