A DIRECTOR of a printing company was yesterday found guilty of committing an act of gross indecency with a reporter in a Lan Kwai Fong public toilet. James Mackie, 55, pleaded not guilty to the offence, committed on May 31 last year, but was convicted in Western Court by Magistrate Henry Mierczak. He was fined $2,500 and ordered to pay $500 costs. The court heard two policemen were on patrol in Lan Kwai Fong when a man told them someone was acting indecently in a public toilet. They found Mackie and another man in one of the cubicles and arrested them. Under caution, Mackie denied the offence but the other man admitted it. The 29-year-old reporter, whom the magistrate requested not be identified, pleaded guilty to a similar charge on June 8 last year and was fined $2,000.
