LAST year was one of the warmest on record with an average minimum temperature of 21.7 degrees Celsius and an average temperature of 23.6 degrees - the highest and second highest respectively since records began in 1884. The year was also humid, with an average dew-point temperature of 19.6 degrees, the highest on record. Rainfall was 23 per cent above average despite an unusually dry first six months.
