Importance of vigilance

MESSAGE SINCE eating out is a way of life in Hong Kong, we must be ever-vigilant in ensuring the meals served are of the proper hygienic standard.

The Urban Council's Restaurant Hygiene Competition is a gainful way of ensuring, and indeed improving, these standards.

I congratulate all of the winners.

More than 4,000 restaurants competed for the grand trophies under seven categories.

I trust their hygiene standards have been raised through this important annual exercise.

I appeal to all restaurant staff to continue their efforts in maintaining such high standards in the years ahead.
