HONG KONG has been chosen to host a major new golf exhibition and conference which is predicted to attract tens of millions of dollars of business.
The first International Hong Kong and China Golf Exhibition and Conference will be staged at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from November 9-11.
Organised by Golf World Exhibitions (GWE), a division of the Australian-based Golf Media Group, the event has been endorsed by many of the world's leading golfing figures.
GWE's Stephen Allen, who will arrive in the territory today to continue preparations for the exhibition, said: 'The location in Hong Kong is ideal, being at the centre of the largest potential golf market ever.
'The North Asia Pacific zone is one of the fastest growing economic regions in the world and this growth is being matched by an interest in golf that will provide exciting opportunities for those in the golf industry.
'China, for instance, with a population of more than 1.1 billion at present has less than 50 golf courses to cater for its entire golfing community. The development opportunities are enormous.' Allen said the idea of the exhibition is to provide exhibitors with the chance to present their golfing products and services to the leading industry professionals - developers, golf course owners, golf sponsors, membership brokers, tournament organisers, club managers, distributors and retailers.
