Double-deck lift installed

OTIS has installed the first double-deck lift in China in the Shanghai Oriental Pearl Broadcasting and Television Tower, the tallest television building in Asia.

Double-deck lifts have a capacity of up to 50 passengers.

Those entering the building lobby use the lower car if they are going to an odd floor, and those going to even-numbered floors use the upper lift on the mezzanine level.

The structure can reduce the use of the space as fewer lift shafts are needed.
